Biography of Rusty Nathan
Jolyon "Rusty" Nathan was born in 1970 in Pennsylvania, USA to an English father and a Barbadian mother, both sculptors. His father Philip was at the time woring for the Franklin Mint where he has sculpted the coinage for the newly independent Barbados.
Moving to England at five years old and then home to Barbados at age ten, Rusty got his secondary education at Maps College before graduating from the Barbados Community College with an associate degree in Graphic Design.
Rusty honed his design skills in Barbados at RR Donnelley where he achieved the professional qualification of Journeyman.
Since going it alone in 2002, Rusty has produced top quality work in the area of labels, CD covers, and jigsaw puzzles.
"I was really excited when Beachgate Images approached me with the idea of creating an illustrated version of Cricket in the Jungle," Rusty said, "particularly as I had never worked on a book before."
The quality of Rusty's work between these covers speaks for itself.
We will surely be seeing a lot more of it in the future.
